GOLF MOBILE BOOMERANG (GMB) as the name suggests is a mobile
machine of the following proportions: 340x280x200mm (13.4 x 11 x 7.9 inch), weight 4,6kg (10.2 pounds), powered by a build-in 12V battery (fully charged lasts
approximately 900 shots). It enables its users to practise hitting a standard golf ball
attached to the cord in limited outdoor space (from 25m) all year round. The golf ball
is slowed down during the flight and stopped in the distance, which is set on the
Display by the golfer in advance (maximum distance 60m), and automatically
returned to the starting position. The real distance of the shot is then calculated, based
on the ballistic curve of the ball, starting speed of the ball and the golf club used, and
displayed in metres on the build-in Display, together with the starting speed of the
ball and number of hits at the current training session. By simply switching, the
distance and the starting speed of the ball could be displayed in yards and miles per
hour. Those functions are possible due to the build-in computirised electronic
commanding system, whose software evaluates and synchronizes the single
operations through the sensors, servo-mechanism and an electromotor. The system
also possesses the extra capacity for the currently developed and already patented
GOLF MOBILE GAME.
By pressing the buttons on the control panel the distance of the shot, re-winding speed (depends on the
terrain as well), club calibration, club selection, etc. can
be selected. The selected data is shown on the Display.
The specially developed software enables to select
specific corrections by pressing the MENU button
followed by pressing some of the additional buttons.
The connection of the ball with the 60m long cord unwinding from the build-in spool influences the flight of the ball in the beginning only minimally, which enables the
player to control the direction of the ball very efficiently. A ball-shaped stop inside
the cavity of the ball was developed to stop the cord from forming loops during the
shot. (The stop is a part of the patent protection.)
The GMB must always be positioned in such a manner that the player is able to control free movement of the cord
through the loop of the Leading and Controlling Rod before
each shot, and is also able to stop an unauthorized person
manipulating the GMB. To activate the GMB, press and
hold for couple of seconds the ON button. After the
AUTOTEST the total number of shots will be shortly shown
on the display, and the cord with the attached ball will be
freed. The ball must be freed from the Spare Ball Container
at the back of the GMB’s Body, and the Leading and
Controlling Rod from the transport holder at the bottom of
the GMB’s Body. Insert the three-part telescopic fiberglass
Leading and Controlling Rod into the Lever Hole, and
secure it at its maximum length. The cord must be able to slide freely through the loop
in the direction of the shots. Preparation time does not exceed 15 – 20 sec providing
the factory settings are used.
The Leading and Controlling Rod eliminates possible
collision of the ball during the slowing down period,
contributes to easier maneuvering of the returning ball through the terrain obstacles, and enables automatic
disconnection of the rewind, should the ball get caught. When the ball is freed from the obstacle by moving the
Leading and Controlling Rod to the left, the re-winding is
re-activated and the ball returned into the ideal starting position.
To adjust an undesired position of the cord a coloured
fiberglass peg (stored in the transport holder together
with the Leading and Controlling Rod) can be used. The
peg is inserted into the ground between the GMB and
the hitting area. The cord is led around it. During a
windy weather the peg could be placed on the cord at
the same position.
Stability is ensured by the Circular Legs, which can
be vertically adjusted. In very declined terrain the
legs could be secured into the ground with the provided pegs, which are inserted into the ground
through the holes in the Circular Legs. (The pegs
are part of the standard accessories, and are stored
in the slots under the Spare Ball Container.)
Place the GMB as close as possible to the horizontal
position. The horizontal position of the GMB could be
checked by the build-in
round spirit level, which is
part of the Display. The
exact horizontal position in
every terrain is possible due
to the Ball Joint and the
Safety Screw and regulating
nut covering the Ball Joint. Before inclining the
GMB’s Body, the screw of the Ball Joint must be loosened to the left and the
egulating nut to the right. This enables inclining and subsequent alancing of the
GMB’s Body into approximately horizontal position. The position of the joint must be
secured by turning the screw to the right.
The GMB could be used in an uneven terrain as well as to practise shots from
unusual positions, which is not offered even at the top golf ranges.
At the end of the practice session disassemble the telescopic Leading and Controlling
Rod and store it in the transport holder. Put the ball into the Spare Ball Container.
Press and hold the OFF button until the cord is automatically re-winded, and with a
“Have a nice day” message the GMB switched off.
The possibility of using the GOLF MOBILE BOOMERANG in different climatic
conditions (e.g. play into a water, on sand, on snow) could prolong the active season
for beginners as well as advanced club players. They can practise golf in such times
when the terrain of the golf ranges does not allow training and picking up the balls by
machines.
